In a first for quantum physics, University of Otago researchers have “held” individual atoms in place and observed previously unseen complex atomic interactions.
The Nobel Prize in Physics this year was awarded to Roger Penrose(1/2) “for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity ” and the other half to Reinhard Genzel, and Andrea Ghez “or the discovery of a supermassive compact object at the center of our galaxy.”
